12 playsso once upon a time many, many years ago i made a friend on neopets. he lived in austria and i lived in western canada so we were seldom online at the same time but we exchanged messages and calls which went on for years on-and-off. years later, much older now, he decided to go on a trip along north america’s west coast and since that was close enough we were able plan to meet each other and that is still one of the coolest days i’ve ever had, i think.
he dedicates songs to me every now and then for birthdays and things and this one is probably one of my favourites.

okay so i messaged him saying “that ann coulter post was fake and meant to be satirical, by the way.” and he responds basically saying that well, it doesn’t actually matter, i would be happy believing false information because ann coulter is wacko anyway so who cares, sorry if i hurt your feelings though. so, since he seemed to have missed the point, i decided to message him again and this is what i got back.
so basically this dude: yeah checking sources is good i guess but wahhh it’s work and impractical and who cares if it was false information it was obviously a joke (please forget that i didn’t know it was a joke)!
lololol and then he goes “I DON’T MEAN TO BE THAT GUY” but then proceeds to be exactly that guy.
this reaction is my favourite so far.
what’s even funnier now is that the people i messaged about it with a “psst that was satirical, be careful” are getting defensive. oh, it was like 4am, i’m not normally like that! or yeah but she easily could have said it, it’s not my fault it was believable. like, are you people for real? just own up to the fact that you made a mistake and promise you’ll do better next time. until then you are not excused.
